(VOVWORLD) -Fahrettin Altun, communications director for the Turkish presidency, on Monday announced that Turkey is ready to offer a location for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

It is conceivable that the countries will reunite in Istanbul, Altun said, adding that in this context, Turkey, as a stabilizing power, is ready to provide all types of assistance, including humanitarian aid and the opening of peace talks.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier affirmed that Turkey is ready to serve as a mediator in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to help resolve the ongoing conflict.

Hungary is in negotiation with Russia and Ukraine to ensure the continuation of gas shipments via Ukraine, despite the majority of its Russian gas imports now being delivered through the TurkStream pipeline.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced on his Facebook page early Sunday afternoon that oil shipments to Hungary via the Friendship oil pipeline have resumed. The minister reassured citizens that Hungary’s energy supply is secure. The resumption follows recent disruptions and challenges surrounding the pipeline’s operation.
