(VOVworld) – The UK economy is estimated to have suffered a loss of approximately 50 million pounds per day after tube staff went on strike across the London Underground network in a dispute over pay and working conditions.

The strike was called after London Underground and the train drivers’ unions failed to agree on pay and new night-time services. Earlier, the unions threatened to strike to protest London Underground’s plans to close ticket offices and operate driverless trains.
