On the same day, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he hopes to travel to Pyongyang soon to prepare for the second Trump-Kim summit. The first 12 June summit closed with a joint statement, in which Kim is ready to accelerate denuclearization in exchange for security guarantees from Washington. However, the denuclearization negotiations are stuck.
In another development, Russia and the US agreed to continue dialogue on Korean Peninsula, including nuclear issues.
