Speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Mr. Trump said he would like to ease sanctions on North Korea, but he needs to see “meaningful” progress on denuclearization.
He described the relationship between the leaders as “very strong” and predicted that he may meet the North Korean chairman again after the summit in Vietnam concludes.
Mr. Trump also said he believes that North Korea is a country with “tremendous potential for economic well-being” in the long term.
