Previously, train tickets for this route were only available for purchase in-person at selected stations, which included Hanoi, Gia Lam, Bac Giang, and Dong Dang. 

The international train, MR1/T8702/Z6, departs daily at 9:20 pm from Gia Lam Station (Hanoi) and makes stops in China at Pingxiang, Chongzuo, and its final destination, Nanning. On Tuesdays and Fridays, the service is extended to Guilin North, Hengyang, Changsha, Zhengzhou, and Beijing West in China.

The move aims to simplify and make ticket-purchasing more convenient for passengers travelling between Vietnam and China by trains, said a representative from the Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR). VNR resumed its Vietnam-China cross-border passenger train service on May 25.

In just under two months since, more than 2,700 passengers have opted for trains to travel between Vietnam and China. The figure is expected to rise after ticket are made available nationwide.
