At the event held by the Mekong Delta Agriculture and Rural Coordination Office and the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese traders listed the fruit, seafood, and rice products they want to ship to the Australian market and the products they want to import from Australia.
Le Thanh Tung, Chief of the Mekong Delta Agriculture and Rural Coordination Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said Vietnam has a great potential for exporting to the Australian market fruits like pomelo, passion fruit, and dragon fruit.
He said: “We have a lot of businesses that import and export agricultural products. This meeting will open up cooperation between Vietnamese and Australian businesses, farms, supermarket systems, and consumers. Australia represents a market of 25 million people, so we see the prospect of selling our agricultural products there.”
