Fujimoto Masayoshi said the Japanese business community will continue to contribute to the development of Japan-Vietnam relations, and that the Japan-Vietnam Joint Initiative launched in 2003 will create a foundation for economic cooperation.
Mr. Man encouraged businesses and localities of the two countries to seize opportunities to enhance exchanges and cooperation, leverage each other’s strengths, and advance the Vietnam-Japan economic relationship, a highlight of bilateral ties and a driver of shared development. Mr. Man said he hopes for continued technology transfers from Japan to improve the transportation system.
During his visit, Man has witnessed the signing of cooperation documents on organizing local administration conferences, and setting up energy, industrial park, logistics, and aviation services between localities and enterprises in the two nations.

On Wednesday morning, Man met with Mr. Ohno Keiji, Chairman of AEON Mall Co., Ltd., and affirmed his support for Aeon Mall's business strategy in the Vietnamese market. Man encouraged AEON to continue investing in and operating shopping centers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Thua Thien-Hue province.
A memorandum of understanding between Aeon Mall and Can Tho city was signed Wednesday morning. Keiji said he hopes to co-operate with the government and people of Can Tho and seek expansion opportunities in other provinces and cities throughout Vietnam.
