Ms. Ngan hosted a reception for the players in Hanoi on Friday to mark Vietnamese Women’s Day, October 20.
She said: “Women’s football is a great sport on its own way. The Vietnam Football Federation, clubs, and the media are required to join efforts to popularize women’s football to a wider audience. I hope female footballers will receive more support.”
Chairwoman Ngan wished the footballers victory at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines next month and a berth at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
The Vietnamese national female footballers triumphed at three AFF Women’s Championships and won gold medals at the SEA Games for five times. The team currently sits at the 6th place in Asia and 34th in the world on the FIFA rankings.
