The former imperial city of Hue is a popular tourist destination in central Vietnam.

The planning, which will be announced at a conference on Saturday, also sets the target for the central province to become a major and distinctive center in Southeast Asia for culture, tourism, and specialized healthcare.

It will also serve as a major national center for high-quality multidisciplinary education and training, as well as a large marine economy hub.
