Some of the protesters threw rocks at vehicles and buildings, burned tires, and blocked several major streets with rocks. The second round of the presidential election in Haiti will see a confrontation between ruling-party candidate Jovenel Moise and opposition figure Jude Celestin. Tensions flared up last week when Celestin threatened not to take part in the runoff, accusing the electoral staff of being biased in favor of the ruling party. Demonstrators demanded an interim government and another election.
