Demonstrations against PEGIDA also took place in several German cities, including Magdeburg and Düsseldorf. Police in Dresden had banned all public outdoor gatherings in the city on Monday due to a terrorism threat.
Meanwhile, hundreds of PEGIDA supporters in Denmark gathered in Copenhagen and other Danish cities. The Danish Foreign Minister Martin Lindegaard called PEDIGA gatherings in Denmark the “wrong actions.”
