(VOVWORLD) - Thousands of people demonstrated in London on Wednesday against police violence and racial injustice, which has set off days of protests in the United States.

People chanted “no justice, no peace, no racist police”. The initially peaceful protests turned into clashes with police. Several protesters were arrested.

This was the fourth day Londoners have marched, most of them black people, to demand justice for George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis after a white police officer knelt on his neck.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday commented on the chaos in the US and said that racist violence has no place in society.
