Thailand supports Japan's higher international role

(VOVworld) – Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai voiced the support of Thailand for Japan's the presidency of G7 group and the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, during his meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida in Bangkok on Sunday. Kishida reaffirmed Japan’s strengthened economic ties with Thailand and its support for ASEAN.

Both sides also discussed issues related to the regional security, the situation on the Korean peninsula and East Sea disputes as well as cooperation to deal with international security maters including terrorism, nuclear proliferation and maritime security. Thailand and Japan signed a letter of intent on strengthening cooperation on agriculture and related areas.
