The launch ceremony was part of the annual program “Humanitarian Power” held on Wednesday in Hanoi to honor organizations and individuals who have contributed to humanitarian work.

President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) Bui Thi Hoa said the VRC calls on its members, volunteers, businesses, organizations and individuals here and abroad to respond to the 2024 Tet of Kindness activities.

“Each of your noble gestures will bring joy and hope to millions of poor people and people in difficult circumstances to have a happy Tet. One good deed can help one person. One million good deeds will help the community and society advance and become civilized,” said Hoa.

Last year the Society mobilized 180 million USD, 43 million of which was used to buy 2.7 million gift sets to help disadvantaged people have a joyous Tet.
