(VOVworld) - Talks between representatives of the Syrian government and some mainstream members of the opposition concluded on Friday in Moscow with no sign of progress towards ending a four-year-old conflict that has killed more than 220,000 people.

In January, Russia organized the first round of talk between Syrian government and opposition groups. Following the talk, the participants reached the so-called “Moscow principle” which includes maintaining Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, solving conflicts in peaceful and political means with no interference from outside powers.
