A workshop of people with disability producing handicraft products

The Association expected the government to issue more incentives for people with disabilities such as social protection, healthcare, resources for production, job generation, and fee exemption for public transportation services.

Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Vice Chairman of the Federation, said: “The Federation has helped generate jobs for people with disability. Our program on loans for the disabled has been operating effectively. Many organizations and centers of the disabled have been established and businesses are encouraged to recruit disabled people.”

Vietnam now has 8 million people with disability, accounting for 8.7% of the population. Programs have been implemented to support people with disability access social services, integrate in to society, attend vocational training courses, and benefit from rehabilitation services.
