Indonesia’s police and army also deployed 1,200 armed personnel to airports to prevent further terror attacks during the Idul Fitri holiday.

President Director Budi Karya Sumadi of PT Angkasa Pura II, a state-owned airport services company operating in the western part of Indonesia, said they would be on duty at 13 airports until July 17. He added that they are able to use weapons to foil attacks similar to those used in Turkey. Special task forces are tasked with checking parking areas and vehicles randomly at airports to detect terror threats early.
