(VOVworld) – A suicide bomb blast took place at a volleyball match in Paktika province, eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 50 people and injuring 60 others.

This was the deadliest attack in Afghanistan since 2011. The suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest in a crowd of spectators in the final minutes of the game. No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack and requested the best possible medical treatment for the victims.
