(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has asked Vietnam’s central provinces to plan for the timely evacuation of local residents from high-risk areas to cope with typhoon Wutip. Working with local authorities in Thua Thien – Hue on Sunday, Hai said Wutip is intense and dangerous and it is hard to forecast its direction. He urged localities to anchor boats safely and ban boat owners from staying on their boats.

He asked relevant ministries and agencies and the armed forces of the 4th military zone to work with localities in monitoring reservoirs and reinforcing houses. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said:Boats are anchored safely in the waters off the region from Quang Tri, Quang Ngai to Thua Thien- Hue. The next task is to transport locals to shore to wait out the storm at shelters. Key provinces namely Quang Tri, Quang Binh, and Thua Thien-Hue should be on the alert.
