(VOVworld) – South Korean chief nuclear negotiator Hwang Joon Kook arrived in Washington on Tuesday to discuss with his American counterpart Glyn Davies how to resume the six-party talks over North Korea’s nuclear programme. “We plan to assess the situation on the Korean Peninsula and other future plans, including the de-nuclearization and measures to deal with North Korea’s up-coming provocation,” Hwang told a press conference after landing in Washington. Hwang’s visit comes only 3 months after he last visited Davies and at a delicate time, when the US is believed to be preparing to send a special envoy to North Korea, where 3 American citizens were being captured.
