According to South Korea’s Ministry of Defense, officials from the 3 countries strongly condemned the missile test, saying it violates UN Security Council resolutions. They said North Korea’s ballistic missile development program is an unacceptable threat to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula as well as Northeast Asia as a whole. Washington reaffirmed its commitment to assuring security and said it would foster cooperation with its allies to deal with the issue.
South Korea’s new president Moon Jae-in said he would work to denuclearize North Korea by any means, including sanctions and dialogue.
