In an interview with Yonhap News Agency Friday, Korea Football Association (KFA) President Chung Mong-gyu said the showpiece event of women's football can guide the divided Korean Peninsula closer to a state of peace and he believes "it's entirely possible" that the Koreas can co-host the tournament. Mr. Chung said the South’s government totally supports the idea and KFA will discuss with North Korea about the issue.
The host nation for the 2023 Women’s Football World Cup is set to be announced next March.
