The article emphasizes the close coordination between the two sides within the framework of the United Nations, ASEAN-EU and strategic dialogues, security-development cooperation, parliamentary exchanges, among others, which have created a network of mutual trust, contributing to sharing common responsibility for peace, stability and development of the Indo-Pacific region.

One of the bright spots in the Vietnam-EU relationship is trade and investment cooperation. Despite global uncertainty, two-way trade turnover in 2024 grew over 10% (68.4 billion USD) and 8.4% (54.6 billion USD) in the first 9 months of 2025. The EU is currently Vietnam's 4th largest trading partner and 6th largest investor, while Vietnam is the EU's largest trading partner in ASEAN. The EU is Vietnam's third largest export market, where Vietnamese export products - from coffee, cashew nuts, and seafood to electronics and textiles - are favored by EU consumers.

The article affirms the orientation of upgrading the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with a belief in a take-off journey of Vietnam-EU relations with a wider cooperation space and higher and more sustainable quality. In a volatile world, Vietnam and the EU share many similarities, which are sustainable values, support for multilateralism, peace building and eliminating the risks of armed violence and local conflicts to take advantage of comprehensive development advantages.

Vietnam wishes to continue to work with the EU to elevate the cooperative relationship with the EU and its member countries to a new height, meeting the interests of both sides, becoming one of the model relationships between Asia and Europe, and together creating a more peaceful, prosperous, green and sustainable future in the two regions and the world, according to the Deputy FM.
