The National Defense Authorization Act was passed with a comfortable bipartisan majority of 83 to 11.

It provides 45 billion USD more for defense than called for in Biden’s budget, including military aid for other countries and territories, and 800 million USD in security assistance to Ukraine.

It allocates 6 billion USD for the European Deterrence Initiative, a program started in 2014 to increase the readiness of US forces in Europe.
