Phu Quoc Prison, the largest US-run prison in South Vietnam, detained more than 40,000 people, most of them patriotic communists.

Mr. Man expressed his admiration for the great sacrifices of soldiers for national peace and independence.

Visiting the family of wounded soldier Tran Xuan Tho, who was detained at Phu Quoc Prison and recognized as a hero, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Gai, a relative of a martyr in Phu Quoc city, Vice Chairman Man insisted that the Party, State, and National Assembly will always remember the merits and sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers, and families who rendered meritorious service to the country.
