Hang said: “Vietnam calls on involved parties to resume dialogues and settle all problems by peaceful means with respect for fundamental principles of international law and for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. Vietnam hopes that property and lives of the people including Vietnamese people will be protected. As an active, responsible member of the international community, Vietnam is ready to contribute to the promotion of dialogues and finding a solution to soon stabilize the situation, for peace and stability in the region and the world.”

Hang added that Vietnam closely follows the situation in Ukraine and pays attention to the protection of Vietnamese citizens living and working in the region. In face of complications in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry assigned the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine to contact the Vietnamese community to ensure citizen protection via the hotline. The Embassy is also asked to work with the local agencies to support and protect the lives and property of Vietnamese people and businesses in Ukraine.

There are about 500 Vietnamese living in Ukraine. No injuries and deaths due to the recent complications have been reported.
