Russian Prime Minister concludes official visit to Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wrapped up a two-day official visit to Vietnam on Monday.

Mr. Medvedev held talks with Prime Minister Phuc, paid a courtesy visit to Party leader and President Nguyen Phu Trong, and met with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The leaders discussed orientations and measures to boost cooperation in various fields to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership. They exchanged views on international matters and stressed the need to maintain peace and stability, ensure aviation and navigation security, safety, and freedom in the East Sea, and resolve disputes peacefully on the basis of international law.

They agreed to maintain coordination at multilateral forums and foster cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, the Asia-Europe Meeting, and the ASEAN-Russia cooperation.
