(VOVworld) – Russia’s ITAR-TASS news agency says Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree Wednesday entitled “On the application of certain special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has had retaliatory actions against the West's sanctions against Russia.

The decree asks central authorities to prohibit or restrict, for one year, the import of certain kinds of agricultural products, cheese and other foods originating in any country that has imposed economic sanctions against Russian companies or individuals or has joined such sanctions.  Putin ordered the Russian government to make a list of import items to be banned or restricted and outline practical measures to enforce the decree.
