(VOVworld)-Both the European Union and the United States announced a new round of sanctions against Moscow this week, targeting Russia’s energy, banking and national defense. This is the strongest act of the countries accusing the Kremlin of supporting anti-Kiev militias in eastern Ukraine and threatening to cripple the Russian economy. However, many European countries expressed their concern worrying that these sanctions would not ease the tensions in Ukraine.

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt worried that the new sanctions imposed on Russia would hurt Sweden’s economic benefits, especially its industrial export. Meanwhile, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Janusr Piechocinski said the sanctions would result in a 0.6 % decrease of this country’s economic growth this year. Belgium is not the big trade partner of Russia but however the recent sanctions would also badly impact its import and export to Russia. Many big European companies including Siemens, Royal Dutch Shell, Erste Group also expressed their deep concerns about their economic losses after the imposition of new sanctions.
