(VOVworld)- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Wednesday said that Ukraine’s demand for lower gas prices in exchange for debt payment has derailed any agreement.
Moscow offered a discount of 100 USD for every 1,000 cubic meters of gas exported to Ukraine but Kiev rejected that deal and sought an official rate change in the contract. Putin said the gas price discount deal was “to support the Ukrainian economy at a rather difficult time”. However, if Kiev rejects that deal, Russia must move to another phase.
