(VOVworld)- Russia warned Ukraine against joining NATO on Tuesday, saying Kiev's previous attempts to move closer to the bloc had brought unwanted consequences. In a statement released after the meeting between NATO Foreign Ministers in Brussels, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said that Ukraine’s previous attempts froze Russian-Ukrainian political contacts. Moscow said the future of Russia-Ukraine economic cooperation depends on Ukraine’s foreign policy. NATO said it would suspend all current civil and military cooperation with Russia after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula. NATO’s foreign ministers asked military commanders to map out a plan to strengthen NATO’s defense capability, including assigning troops and military equipment to East-European countries for military drills.
