“The previous US administration did a lot of damage to relations with Russia, so there is a long road to recovery,” Peskov said. He noted that the new US administration is rapidly changing the direction of American foreign policy to align with Russia.
The Trump administration is set on restoring ties with Russia and resolving the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible.
On February 18 in Riyadh and on February 27 in Istanbul talks were held between representatives of Moscow and Washington, which were aimed at normalizing the work of the Russian and US embassies and resuming diplomatic contacts in general.
