(VOVworld) – On Friday, Moscow and Kiev agreed on a mechanism to exchange Ukrainian female pilot Nadiya Savchenko for two Russian citizens, Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeni Yerofeyev. The exchange should take place before the end of May and this will happen after the verdict of Alexandrov and Yerofeev enters into force.

On April 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had telephone talk to discuss a number of issues, including the case of Ukrainian pilot and two Russian citizens.
An Ukrainian court found Alexander and Yerofeev guilty of terrorism and participation in hostilities in Eastern Ukraine. They were sentenced to 14 years in prison. On March 22nd, a Russian court sentenced Nadezhda Savchenko to 22 years of imprisonment for her involvement in the artillery fire, which killed 2 Russian journalists.
