The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov told the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter that Russia did not hold activities near the border with NATO. He confirmed that Russia had to take measures to protect its national security and interests if NATO’s military approaches Russia, going against commitments between the two sides. Mr. Lavrov also said Russia is ready to hold a dialogue with the EU as an equal partner but if the EU maintains its current diplomatic policies, the EU and Russia can not have equal positions.
