(VOVworld) - Russia will be deploying S-400 missile defense systems to Syria, said Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday. The move took place as Russia enhances its military operations in Syria after one of its warplanes was shot down by Turkey on the border with Syria.

Meanwhile, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Turkey’s shooting down of the Russian plane complicated the process of finding a political solution for the Syrian crisis. She added that every issue needs resolving to prevent further escalating tension.
