Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has dismissed the Russian accusations, saying they aim to justify additional attacks against Ukraine and to prolong the conflict.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the action is aimed at collapsing the negotiation process, adding the diplomatic consequence will be to toughen the negotiating position of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Ukraine had tried to attack Putin's residence in the Novgorod region west of Moscow on Sunday and Monday with 91 long-range drones which were all destroyed by Russian air defences. No one was injured and there was no damage, he said.
