(VOVworld) – Russia will not change its policies on Ukraine in exchange for the US lifting sanctions, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a Sunday press conference in Moscow.

He said peace talks in Ukraine are progressing as the two sides have withdrawn heavy weapons and are seeking a political solution. Lavrov said the West has not changed its Cold-War mindset of trying to make deals with Russia based on inequality, like the US’s unilateral withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty and NATO’s eastward expansion, noting that the world today is multi-polar and the US cannot resolve every issue by itself.
