(VOVworld) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday delivered his annual address to the Russian Federal Assembly, focusing on socio-economic issues and Russian internal affairs.

President Putin spoke highly of Russian economic achievements despite Western sanctions and falling oil prices, and stressed the need to create an action plan until 2025 to enhance Russia’s status in the global economy.
The President said Russia will continue to defeat terrorism and is ready for dialogue to establish sustainable international relations. He said Russia’s willing to develop ties with the US new administration on the basis of equality and mutual benefits and that Russia and the US share a responsibility to ensure international security and stability, and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Putin praised the Russia-China partnership as one of the key factors in ensuring global and regional stability, and also attached importance to cooperation with India.
