The Bolivian government has announced a 300-million-USD investment plan, with an ambition to make this nuclear complex the largest in South America. The complex will be built in a 15-hectare area and will take four years to build. Bolivian Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology has implemented the plan since last December with their Russian partners. Bolivia will consult experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and receive technology support from Argentina. Bolivia will also send 100 nuclear experts abroad for training.
