Maria Zakharova said the British government should apologize after demanding that Russia explain itself regarding a couple who fell ill in a new case of exposure to a nerve agent suspected to be the same one used to attack a Russian ex-double agent in Salisbury in March. She added that British law enforcement should not involve in dirty political games.
Meanwhile, UK Home Secretary Sajid Javid said Britain can not accept its citizens to become targets of attacks. He underscored that Britain rejects threats to its national security or the security of its partners, and will retaliate if it turns out Russia had anything to do with the latest poisoning.
Last Monday British police found a man and a woman unconscious in a house in Amesbury, near Salisbury town in southern England. Both are undergoing treatment at a Salisbury hospital and are in critical condition.
