Russia’s FSB said US national Evan Gershkovich obtained information about the activities of an enterprise belonging to the Russian industrial-military complex that constitutes a state secret, and Gershkovich could face up to 20 years in prison.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned the detention, adding that the US State Department's top priority is the safety and security of US citizens abroad.

Blinken reiterated strong warnings about the danger posed to US citizens in Russia, and advised them to leave Russia immediately.
