Prime Minister Chinh on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Central Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. He applauded the ministries, sectors, and localities for shortening the timeline to five years and being well on their way to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by August 31 this year. The Prime Minister called this a great effort of the entire political system.
“We have directed to shorten the timeline by 2025. But the August 31 deadline will have a very different meaning. Because on September 2, the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, we do not want anyone to live in temporary or dilapidated houses anymore. This is a very humane policy of the Party and State of Vietnam. General Secretary To Lam also directed this matter resolutely. So, completing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before August 31, 2025 is a great effort of the entire Party, people and army,” the PM said.
