(VOVworld) – The Party Committee of the central business sector will continue to improve its party building work to raise the status of state-owned enterprises in the national economy.
Speaking at a conference to review activities in 2013 and work out tasks for 2014 on Wednesday in Hanoi, Bui Van Cuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the central business sector, said: "Following the guidelines approved at the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, our tasks for 2014 will focus on promoting the restructuring of enterprises and the banking sector, equitization of state-owned enterprises, improving the efficiency of production and enhancing the Party’s leadership of state-owned enterprises. In order to fulfill the goals, Party organizations in companies, corporations and banks need to exert further effort to develop the sector’s position as the spearhead of the national economy".
In the recent past, Party Committee of the central business sector has enhanced their party building work and successfully directed companies, corporations and banks to fulfil their tasks. State-owned enterprises have contributed more than 297 trillion VND to the state budget, accounting for around 36 percent of the national budget revenue and generating more than 1.3 million jobs.
