Republic of Korean President begins state visit to Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife arrived in Hanoi on Thursday, starting their state-level visit to Vietnam. The visit comes as the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership late last year.

During the visit, the President Yoon will hold talks with President Vo Van Thuong and witness the signing ceremony of cooperation documents. He will meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, pay courtesy visit to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and attend the Vietnam-Korea Business Forum.

Talking to the press, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Oh Young Ju hailed the visit, calling it an opportunity for leaders of the two countries to discuss and set out specific directions, visions and action plans to sustain effective cooperation and develop the good relationship that has gone through three decades.
