Religions urged to play more active roles in people’s healthcare

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City has hosted a conference to honor exemplary religious organizations for their contribution to community healthcare.

Religious organizations nationwide have run more than 60,000 clinics, which have cared more than 710,000 patient visits, mostly with traditional medicines. Religious organizations have helped mobilized nearly 2,000 people to donate tissues and organs after death, nearly 220 of them are religious dignitaries. The Vietnam Fatherland Front has requested the Party and State to promote socialization movement in people’s healthcare, particularly among religious organizations.
