The Red Cross Society told a press conference in Hanoi that this year's Humanitarian Month is themed "From our hearts - Working together to build a compassionate community".

Bui Thi Hoa, President of the Society, said, “With its humanitarian mission, the Vietnam Red Cross Society continues to spread a message that each person in society, with even small deeds, will create resonance. Affection and sharing for the disadvantaged people will be promoted in our society.”

On April 23, the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the People's Committee of Can Tho City will launch the Humanitarian Month and mark the 160th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

During the Humanitarian Month, the Society will help build and repair 63 kitchens at preschools and primary schools in extremely difficult conditions; 115 houses for poor and difficult fishermen; and support livelihood for 200 poor fishing households.
