The revised Marriage and Family Law abolishing the regulation on same-sex marriage prohibition has helped reduce social discrimination. But it’s necessary to have regulations to manage the legal consequences of cohabitation. The recognition of same-sex marriage needs appropriate procedures.
The revised Law said the government does not recognize the marriages of same-sex couples. Their cohabitation will be handled under the Civil Code and relevant laws. One such law holds that the person who gives birth to a baby is its mother.
