The event aims to honour value of peace and convey a message of peace loving on the part of the Vietnamese people and  those around the globe, while spotlighting the strong spirit of Quang Tri which was ravaged by the war.

Nguyen Duc Chinh, Deputy Chairman of Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee, said: "We aim to create this festival as a tourism brand to attract more visitors, both domestic and foreign, to Quang Tri, with diverse activities to engender reflection on  war, while promoting values of peace, and taking actions to protect such values."

The event will feature a series of art performances, exhibitions and seminars. It is scheduled for July, mainly in Dong Ha city, Cua Viet, Cua Tung, Quang Tri town, the Truong Son and Road 9  National Martyrs Cemeteries, the Hien Luong-Ben Hai historical relic site.
