By early 2026, Quang Ninh had put in place a transparent fisheries data system, with all 4,116 fishing vessels of 6 meters or longer registered and updated on the national VNfishbase platform.
Information on all vessel owners has also been verified and coordinated with the national VNeID database, allowing faster and more accurate identification and traceability of fishermen.
Electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) has been rolled out for more than 2,051 vessels, logging nearly 6,000 port arrivals and departures. In the first week of 2026, officials used the system to monitor 446 tons of seafood, ensuring that each catch could be traced back through a verified record.
