During the opening ceremony themed “The Kingdom of Caves – Wonder and Legend” at Bao Ninh Square, Son Doong Cave in the province was recognized as the world’s largest natural cave by the World Record Association and World Records Union. Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Huu Hoai, was speaking in the ceremony: “The festival’s opening ceremony aims to promote the beauty of the cave system in Quang Binh Province, which has been famous for its more than 300 mysterious and breathtaking caves, and introduce cultural and spiritual values of the stunning tourist site to local and international tourists with an aim to strengthen the tourism development of the province. Visitors are welcomed with fresh and inspiring experiences only available in Quang Binh. Let’s join us to protect the heritage.”
